Do you want to make a name for yourself, make multiple connections and eye-catching stories?
LPC, a unit of Refinitiv, the world’s leading source of information on syndicated loans, is look
ing for a motivated reporter to cover the US leveraged loan market, which finances some of the world’s biggest non-investment grade companies and multibillion dollar acquisition deals.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will cover the $1.4 trillion primary leveraged loan market for Loan Pricing Corp and IFR magazine, breaking news, loan terms and longer pieces for all Refinitiv's brands, including real-time services and publications.
The private nature of the leveraged loan market, which finances riskier ‘junk’ companies and private equity buyouts, means that well-connected journalists can break exclusive news on jumbo M&A deals, and play a key role on some of the biggest corporate finance, debt capital markets, banking, regulatory and restructuring stories. With his/her/their stories, the reporter is also expected to shine a light on the tension between the private debt asset class and traditional lenders.
We are looking for a self-started and nimble reporter with strong people and communication skills who is comfortable to build a strong contact list and learn the intricacies of the leveraged loan market talking to investors and senior bankers and be able to work independently. She/he/they should be eager to develop strong relationships with IFR colleagues and liaise with global colleagues.
