Position SummaryThe Buyer develops forward looking strategies for assigned commodity/spend categories by partnering with internal business stakeholders. The position supports stakeholders and procurement management during the negotiation, implementation and modification of supply agreements. The Buyer works closely with Sr. Buyers, internal stakeholders, and other leadership to achieve the goals of the spend category.Job Duties and Responsibilities• Meets with suppliers and account representatives, negotiating rates, updating approved supplier list and general supplier records, alongside finalizing Supplier Performance Reviews• Supports Sr. Buyers or Management in the development & execution of sourcing strategies that delivers a competitive advantage driving the strategic supplier initiatives• Provides analytical and problem solving skills, experience in taking initiative and making appropriate decisions• Gathers Market Intelligence and trends for assigned Spend Categories• Ensures maximum usage of eProcurement platforms to drive competitive pricingPosition Requirements• Bachelor's Degree in a related field• 1+ years experience in strategic sourcing or procurement• Analytical and problem solving skills, experience in taking initiative and making appropriate decisions.• Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships within and outside the company• Flexible, resilient and comfortable working in “gray areas” that are constantly changingPreferred Requirements• Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft Office Suite products• Good organizational skills required with the ability to manage several tasks concurrently• Effective analysis, organizational and project management skills• Solid communication, relationship building and negotiating skillsLife Time is a place for everyone.
