JOB SUMMARY:
The McCurtain County Strong Fathers Initiative, in conjunction with LIFT Community Action Agency, Inc. and OKDHS, is a grant funded program designed to enhance men's involvement in family life. The Strong Fathers Case Manager/Dad Coordinator (CM/DC) is responsible for delivery of 24/7 Dads@ evidence-based parenting curriculum to program participants. The CWDC will provide curriculum instruction to Fathers/Father Figures in group settings with class sizes ranging from 8-20. The CM/DC will recruit participants by engaging in community outreach activities and community education. This position also requires creating and maintaining partnerships with other community service organizations and ensuring linkages to other community resources that help fathers address barriers to child/family involvement. The CWDC is responsible for providing direct services to support fathers' involvement through case management, care coordination, fatherhood initiatives, and life course education. The Strong Fathers CM/DC works under the direction of the Strong Fathers Program Director and works closely with OKI)HS staff and OKDHS-approved Technical Assistance Provider(s). This position is non-exempt.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Conduct initial assessments of fathers' needs, strengths, and barriers to successful parenting and involvement with their children. 
  2. Develop and implement individualized service plans for fathers, including setting goals, identifying resources, and coordinating services to meet their needs. 
  3. Provide guidance and support to fathers in developing positive parenting skills, including communication, discipline, and nurturing techniques.
  4. Connect fathers with community resources such as childcare, employment services, housing assistance, legal aid, substance abuse treatment, and mental health services. • Advocate on behalf of fathers to ensure they receive appropriate services and support from relevant agencies and organizations.
  5. Coordinate and facilitate group meetings, workshops, and support groups for fathers to share experiences, learn from each other, and develop a support network. This includes delivery of the 24:7 Dad curricula. 
  6. Provide crisis intervention and support to fathers facing emergencies or challenging situations related to their parenting or personal circumstances. 
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, records, and documentation of services provided to fathers, and prepare reports for program evaluation and funding purposes. 
  8. Collaborate with other professionals and agencies involved in the fatherhood program, including social workers, counselors, educators, and legal professionals, to ensure holistic support for fathers and their families. 
  9. Engage with the local community to raise awareness of the fatherhood program, recruit participants, and establish partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders. 
  10. Administer Pre and Post surveys including the HOPE Scale survey; the Five Protective Factors Survey, etc. Track fathers' progress towards their goals, measure program outcomes, and participate in program evaluation activities to continuously improve service delivery and effectiveness. 
  11. Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in working with fathers from diverse backgrounds, respecting their values, beliefs, and traditions. 
  12. Stay informed about best practices in fatherhood programming, attend relevant training and professional development opportunities, and continuously enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
    SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP: The strong Fathers Case Manager/Dad Coordinator works under the Supervision of the Strong Fathers Program Director. The CWDC has no supervisory responsibilities.
    OUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in education, psychology, or other Social Sciences preferred. Relevant experience and training will be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Two years' experience in project management, group facilitation or closely related field. One year of experience teaching or delivering community-based programs.
    • Knowledge of office management software programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Teams).
    • Possess excellent verbal communication skills.
    • A demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse community and administrative personnel.
    • Possess good technical writing skills.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines and benchmarks.
    • Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid Driver License, and auto insurance coverage. Daily/weekly driving is required, access to a private automobile for necessary overnight job-related travel is also required.
    • Ability and willingness to work at times other than regular office hours including some evenings and weekends. 
    • Must be able to travel when necessary.
    MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
    I. Constantly must be able to sit/stand in a stationary position 50% of the time, stoop, bend; walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip, type; reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs.
    • Frequently must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    • Frequently must operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
    • Frequently must communicate with staff and others who have inquiries about the program. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • Occasionally must move/carry items weigh up to 30 pounds.
