The Director of People Operations is responsible for managing a People Operations team and providing HR support to assigned departments. The Director oversees and supports the creation and clarification of policies, processes, and people strategies that promote an engaged workforce. Acting as a partner, the Director aligns institutional objectives with team members and management in designated units. The Director serves as a consultant to leadership on Human Resources-related issues, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs, and communicating proactively with the HR team and departments. The Director maintains an effective level of institutional literacy about the departments’ mid-range plans, organizational design, and culture, training their team to do the same. This role includes strategizing across the organization on people and culture-related initiatives.
This is a fully remote role based in TAMPA, FL with only occasional, planned onsite or travel requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee the People Operations function with an emphasis on engaging team members to reduce attrition, promote an inclusive culture of trust, accountability, psychological safety, and organizational excellence, while reducing employment-related risks.
- Collaborate extensively with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and L&D departments on team member engagement.
- Partner with AVP to develop and implement People Ops strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead the people movement process.
- Oversee the annual review process.
- Ensure People Operations data is clearly communicated to business units and provides strategic insight and trend analyses.
- Lead the team in collaborating with stakeholders to respond to, investigate, and resolve complex team member concerns, with an emphasis on direct support to Shared Services departments.
- Partner with AVP and Business Insights on departmental Team Member Engagement Surveys to understand team members’ perspectives and identify gaps between organizational goals and daily operations.
- Collaborate with leadership to understand business goals and ensure People Ops initiatives support the overall strategic plan.
- Ensure that the department’s policies and procedures comply with federal and state laws.
- Responsible for Team Handbook updates, comprehension, and dissemination.

REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or HR industry certifications.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role
- Proven history of successfully managing a department with emphasis on team member relations.
- Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills.
- Able to present and communicate to large groups of people.
- Must be flexible and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and team members on the interpretation of policies, procedures.

$120,000 - $120,000 a year
