The Lock Desk Senior Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day management of locking mortgage loan rates as a part of our mortgage operation. This role’s primary responsibilities will be overseeing and advising junior analysts with reviewing, processing, locking, extending, and revising mortgage loan rate lock requests submitted. The Lock Desk Senior Analyst will collaborate with the Pricing Desk to ensure loan eligibility and pricing characteristics are working as expected and troubleshoot and solve lock-related issues escalated by junior analysts. As a Lock Desk Senior Analyst, you will facilitate communication with Operations and Production staff daily and perform ad hoc duties as assigned while maintaining a customer service focus in an extremely fast, multi-tasking, and deadline-driven environment.
- Oversee and advise Junior Analysts responsible for reviewing, processing, locking, extending, relocking and revising mortgage loan rate lock requests submitted by mortgage loan officers or operations team members, in accordance with Cardinal policy.
- Understand and maintain lock policy, process improvement and changes.
- Respond to Lock Desk related questions in a timely manner.
- Oversee detailed, accurate monthly and daily reporting of all lock related activity.
- Responsible for process improvement and changes.
- Track branch concessions based on branch proforma/model, corresponding budget, concession usage and remaining balance. Approve, deny and negotiate concessions.
- Set and enforce max concession limits. Understand comp plans, variances to target volumes and product mix.
- Work with the Pricing Desk to ensure loan eligibility and pricing characteristics function as expected.
- Manage best effort lock and lock pipelines while taking appropriate actions.
- Communicate effectively with Secondary Marketing and Production staff daily.
- Troubleshoot and solve lock related issues escalated by junior analysts.
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
- Update and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist Capital Marketing Management with additional duties as needed.
- External: 5+ years of relevant work experience in Capital Markets/Secondary Marketing
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Analytics, Computer Science, Finance
- Modeling experience
- Strong understanding of statistics
- Experience with SQL (Structured Query Language)
- Must be data driven and analytical
- Ability to provide insight and guidance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Google Analytics, Google Data Studios
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage large volume of tasks
- Must accept coaching, constructive criticism and feedback on a regular basis
- Positive attitude with a lot of energy

The expected base salary for this position ranges from fifty nine thousand dollars to eighty nine thousand dollars, determined based on the applicant's experience, skillset, education, training, certificates, and licenses.
