What You Will Do

Works in logistics operations to manage the storage processes of inventory. Facilitates communication between sales and distribution partners for supply chain. The Logistics Manager is the primary leader for 3PL Warehouse daily operations and activities. Ensures that our 3PL Warehouse and HPP partners exceed expectations every day and removes obstacles as needed. Provides tactical day to day partnership with those facilities to ensure Freshpet product is shipped timely and accurately to our customers. Coordinates between sales and logistics suppliers on daily customer order changes, special orders/program management and is responsible for addressing and resolving them. Daily interactions with suppliers for inventory allocation, loading performance issues, and OS&D resolution.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Leadership and management of the Logistics Specialist, who is primarily responsible for inventory management and order fulfillment at the 3PL warehouses
• Sets priorities for HPP and determines the flow to various HPP facilities based on capacity
• Primary point of contact for 3PL Warehouse and HPP partners related to daily activities, setting appointment volumes, and adherence to schedules
• Partners with 3PL Warehouses’ and HPP providers’ leadership to resolve daily obstacles
• First point of escalation for load quality and inventory related topics
• Responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues
• Provides feedback to 3PL partners on load quality improvements
• Facilitates daily communication venues with 3PL Warehouses and HPP providers
• Leverages daily metrics to measure performance of warehouse operations, to include Fill Rate, OS&D, load quality, and trailer unloading times
• Reviewing bills and invoices for correctness and completeness of approved charges
• Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
• Additional related responsibilities as necessary

What You Will Bring

Work Experience Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience in multiple logistics/warehouse leadership roles, with an emphasis on 3PL management; preferably in food or pet food with good working knowledge of the consumer goods industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient with MS Office suite and ERP/WMS systems
• Strong sense of urgency, extremely high standards of excellence & attention to detail
• Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills
• Able to influence others & manage conflict
• Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
• Creative thinking skills and excellent problem-solving skills

Education Requirements

• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or Logistics; or equivalent experience
