The Opportunity

We are seeking a Social Lead, Emerging Brands to lead our Emerging Brands Social Pod, overseeing the growth and strategic direction of four key brands: Pop Hive, Concerts, CountryHub, and Hoodlum. This role will initially manage a team of two Social Media Managers, with opportunities to expand and lead a larger team in the future. The position reports to the VP of Content and collaborates closely with the Social Lead, Core Brands.

Responsibilities
  • Develop strategy. Lead Strategy Development, Growth, and Innovation across Low Battery’s Social Brands, including @rap, @drip, @bars, @concerts, @pophive, @countryhub, @uncut, @reggaetontv, and more with combined cross-platform audiences of more than 45M

  • Manage the team. You’ll have direct responsibility over a growing team of social media managers & social leads. This isn’t project coordination — your output & results are team output and results — you’ll coach, develop, and mentor your team in addition to providing performance reviews

  • Social is 24/7. News breaks on nights, weekends, and holidays. Working shifts during these times is part of the game and is required, especially in supporting your people

  • Sales team collaboration. Work closely with Sales to execute against RFPs. Contribute social media insights during proposal development, oversee campaign rollout, and provide performance data to inform future RFPs

  • Be a social media savant. Stay abreast of social media trends, emerging platforms, and industry best practices. Introduce new ideas and strategies to keep our social media presence fresh, relevant, and ahead of competitors

  • Support the team. When necessary, support emerging social pages, particularly during breaking news, large-scale campaigns, or when team members are absent. Ensure consistent and high-quality output across all accounts

  • Content planning. Oversee the creation of a quarterly content calendar and lead virtual & in person tentpole strategy across social brands.

  • Hiring. Support & oversee all social department hiring including working with in-house & external recruiters & supporting social leads.

  • Social Intelligence. Build documented reporting process that allows data to flow up through the organization to support decision making across sales, social, content, & within leadership.

  • Platform relationships. Build and maintain direct relationships with key contacts at major social platforms. Advocate for verification, platform tools, and support when needed.

  • Budget management. Own the social department's P&L including tools/software costs, paid promotion budgets, freelancer allocation, and team headcount planning.
