Job Title: District Sales ManagerLocation(s): Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Salinas, and Watsonville.Reports to: Regional Director/Vice PresidentFLSA Status: ExemptOverview:The District Sales Manager contributes to the growth and profitability of the company by overseeing the management, operations, and business development of the branch office(s) assigned. The District Sales Manager is responsible for the management of their "home" office in addition to providing oversight to other branches.Essential Job Functions:• Fulfill Business Development obligations for prospects or territory as defined by management.• Create and maintain business relationships by coordinating requirements, developing, and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.• Collaborate with staff and Clients to promote sales growth.• Active communication and involvement with target list accounts, at minimum, monthly.• Effectively plan and manage appointments, calls, and other interactions.• Utilize the Applicant Tracking System to track sales development, initiatives, and strategies.• Sales Activity must be strategic and lead to sales progress.• Active communication and involvement with commissionable accounts regularly, monthly for medium to large users, or bi-annual for small users.• Keep abreast of industry, business, and market trends, including competitive information, new businesses, company closings, layoffs, and expansions/organizational charts.• Schedules monthly meetings to work with Branch Managers and/ Regional Directors to increase productivity.• Maintain accurate files and records such as Information Forms, Proposals, Weekly Sales Reports, and Track Lists.• Attend networking events to promote community engagement and professional development.• Provide leadership support, serving as point of contact for assigned branches.• Foster and manage employee relations, including but not limited to counseling, coaching, discipline, and discharge.• Communicate, implement, and enforce company policies and procedures.• Grow assigned branches through new sales and process improvements.• Manage Branch Manager(s) and staff to deliver assigned metrics through weekly, monthly reviews.• Oversee and manage branch AR and Collection efforts.• Manage and analyze profit and loss statements, developing strategies to maximize profitability and minimize costs.• Develop staff talent through onboarding, coaching, training, mentoring, counseling, holding accountable, and rewarding.• Work with Safety to manage worker’s compensation (onsite safety audits, investigations, documentation, etc.) Adhere to Company Core Values - Excellence, Grit, Integrity, and Service.• Maintain regular and expected attendance.• Maintain valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.• Other duties as assigned.Key Performance Indicators and Attributes:• Weekly Sales Activity.• Weekly Meetings: Phone, In-Person, Virtual (Zoom, Teams, etc.)• Sales Strategy.• Sales Close Rate (Percentage of leads that become customers.)• Networking/Community Events, as required.• Gross Profit Generated• 5 meetings per week with key decision makers in current or prospect accounts.• 5 meetings per month with key decision makers at Legacy Accounts in branches assigned• Conduct weekly/monthly one on ones to review metrics and provide coaching to teams• Provide in person support at least 3 times per month to additional branches assigned, or as agreed by management• Maintain or exceed target CM of 6.5% for all branches assigned• Excellent communication skills; displaying professional etiquette, both verbal and written• Excellent computer skills including competency in Microsoft applications.• Respond well to pressure and maintain a positive demeanor• Strategic problem solving and decision-making• Initiative to assist team members without direction• Excellent time management skills• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner• Work responsibly with or without supervision• Meet continuing education and certification requirementsPhysical Requirements:• Primarily sedentary work that involves sitting/standing/bending/twisting/kneeling, however, must have ability to walk considerable distance for an hour at a time, with or without notice on facility tours• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods• Occasional repetitive hand and foot motion• Frequent driving
