Backed by $80M in funding from investors such as Bedrock, Sequoia, BoxGroup, DCVC, and others, Mach Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to create better defense systems for the US and its allies. With a vertically integrated supply chain, we offer capabilities impossible with conventional methods.
We are seeking a skilled Load and Dynamics Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role involves the analysis and testing of hardware components such as PCBs, structures, and sensors, to determine their response to vibrations, heat, and noise in an aerospace environment. This role involves designing and performing rigorous tests using temperature chambers, vibration boards, and other equipment, as well as conducting detailed simulation and analysis to predict material behaviors under various stress factors.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and conduct experiments using specialized equipment such as temperature chambers and vibration boards to simulate environmental conditions.
Perform detailed analysis of hardware response to external stresses using simulation tools like Ansys for structural, thermal, and acoustic analysis.
Develop and validate mathematical models to predict the behavior of materials and components under specified conditions.
Conduct detailed analyses of jet turbine models to evaluate performance and structural integrity under operating conditions.
Perform fracture analysis to identify potential failure points and develop solutions to enhance material strength and longevity.
Stay abreast of advancements in the field of dynamics structure analysis and introduce innovative approaches and technologies to the team.
Support root cause analysis in failure analysis investigations and propose corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in dynamics structure analysis, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
Proficient in using engineering simulation software such as Ansys for structural, thermal, and noise analysis.
Demonstrated experience in designing and executing tests using temperature chambers, vibration tables, and other relevant testing apparatus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to assess complex systems.
Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively presenting analysis results and making recommendations to both technical and management teams.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with PCBs and sensor technologies in high-vibration and high-temperature environments.
Advanced certifications or training in simulation tools or material science.
Familiarity with industry standards related to aircraft and automotive hardware design and testing.
