We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of advanced airframe and mechanical systems for next-generation autonomous defense platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to create high-performance, manufacturable systems that meet demanding mission requirements.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design and development of air vehicle structures, airframes, and mechanical systems, from initial concept to production-ready solutions.
Develop lightweight, high-strength structural designs for airframes, ensuring performance, durability, and compliance with mission-critical specifications.
Perform CAD modeling, prototyping, and testing to validate designs and refine system performance.
Collaborate across disciplines, including propulsion, avionics, and systems integration, to optimize mechanical systems for aerodynamics, thermal management, and reliability.
Support the development of manufacturing processes for mechanical systems, leveraging techniques such as composites fabrication, machining, and additive manufacturing.
Assist in assembly, integration, and testing activities for airframes and other mechanical components.
Research emerging materials and manufacturing technologies to continuously improve system performance and manufacturability.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on air vehicle structures, airframes, or complex mechanical systems.
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) and experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
Strong understanding of structural design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and iteration of mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with airframe mechanical systems, including aerodynamic structures, landing gear, or thermal systems.
Familiarity with defense systems requirements and Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
Exposure to high-volume production environments and scalable manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge of advanced materials and manufacturing methods, such as composites or additive manufacturing.
