Mainframe Systems Programmer

What You Will Do:

The Systems Programmer will ensure the smooth running of the mainframe environment.

Responsibilities will include:

Manage the mainframe hardware configuration and install and maintain all mainframe operating systems, sub-systems
Maintain mainframe performance and security
Customizing all mainframe operating systems that Mediaocean use, z/OS, z/VM and z/Linux
Managing system performance through capacity planning and monitoring
Configuring all hardware devices (both real and virtual)
Definition and enforcement of system standards
Troubleshooting of operating system and sub-system problems
Providing technical support of the applications programming staff and Operations
Implementation and administration of the Mediaocean Security policy via RACF
Design and maintenance of DR backup and recovery procedures
Implement and configure all IBM & 3rd party mainframe software
Manage operations projects across the sub-departments
Provide 2nd level support for all operational issues
Adhere to change control standards via the ops ticket system
Manage the Mediaocean tape subsystem environment

Who You Are:

Good working knowledge of IBM and 3rd party software that Mediaocean install:
Beta – BETA92
BMC – MAINVIEW, CMF, ControlM-Tape, AmiOps automation
Phoenix – EJES, z/HIZR
Innovation – FDR, DSF, FDREPORT, IAM
Chicago Soft – QwickRef
IBM - z/OS Racf, MQ, DFSORT, Jes2/3, PSF, HCD
IBM - z/VM, Redhat z/Linux
Good working knowledge of IBM Hardware:
Z14
DS8870 & Global Mirror
TS7760 & Replication
Very good rexx skills would be an advantage
Must be able to work EST hours (8:00 am - 6:00 pm)
