Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Nashville, TN.
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of Maintenance Mechanics with various skills to ensure that all Production and Facilities Equipment is safely maintained and operates effectively. This will be accomplished by understanding company priorities and ensuring the Maintenance Team is trained and resourced to ensure success. The Supervisor needs to have a strong understanding and working knowledge of an effective Preventative Maintenance program and all types of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and a journeyman level Progressive Tool and Die experience to ensure timely and effective troubleshooting. The Supervisor will also have a working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other company policies that ensure the Maintenance Team and all other employees work in a Safe Environment.
Responsibilities:
SAFETY

Promote and support the highest levels of safety both personally and with others; Ensure Maintenance Team Members attend monthly Safety Training and are in compliance of all PPE and Safety Policies

Ensure Safety Suggestions are completed in a timely manner
MAINTENANCE
-
Lead, coach, and manager a team of 7-9 maintenance technicians

Provide technical and in-depth understanding of all significant building operational systems

Overseeing, training, and directing work for high-speed progression dies
- Directs workers in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of production and facilities equipment

Assists workers in trouble shooting production and facilities equipment

Manage multiple and ever-changing priorities

Establish and adjust work schedules to meet production demands
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE (PM)
-
Inspect Equipment and Facilities to ensure Critical Equipment is operating effectively

Work with Production Planning to ensure PMs are scheduled and completed on time

Assist in driving the preventative maintenance plan to achieve maximum equipment efficiency
BUDGET
-
Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance

Document, budget, and track all maintenance projects
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
-
Participate in Kaizen Events as needed

Responsible for cost savings program within the Maintenance Department

Help monitor, track, and improve key performance indicators
VENDOR/PROJECT MGT
- Direct contractors engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial equipment

Monitor, maintain, and work with third-party vendor to purchase, and have readily available constrained spare parts inventory
MISC - Performs other duties assigned or as the situation dictates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSME preferred) and/or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Solid lean manufacturing experience; Six Sigma a plus
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

Minimum 5 years of equipment troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment

Journeyman-level Progressive Tool and Die experience

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
