Maintaining 5S standards of assigned areas and observing company policies at all times.

Completing each phase of responsibility by knowing, understanding and adhering to all TS16949 standard operating procedures.

Notifying designated personnel of any irregularities in materials, process or equipment.

Performing each phase of job in full compliance with all company, state and/or federal safety and environmental regulations. This position impacts the significant environment aspects of the ISO14001environmental management system.

Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervision.

Shift leader responsibilities

Perform the following independently with a minimum of supervision.

  • Operate powered mobile equipment per company standards. Maintain production, maintenance, S.P.C., deviations and other required records and logs, as instructed.
  • Change over, adjust, maintain, improve capability and operate all assigned equipment. Maintain continual close observation of assigned equipment.
  • Be able to recover any line equipment from a catastrophic failure and get running in a timely manner. Be proactive instead of reactive – try to prevent the downtime.
  • Perform a variety of digital, electrical and mechanical adjustments to achieve desired operating results. Perform change-overs to produce various types in accordance with specifications.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions unassisted from other departments and make necessary repairs to restore equipment to proper operating conditions. Disassemble equipment, identify and replace worn, broken, or otherwise defective parts and reassemble equipment making any adjustments necessary to ensure proper equipment operation. Make minor and major modifications to parts/fixtures to assure proper fit. Assist maintenance in major overhauls and prove out acceptability of repair work prior to release for production. Keep supervision informed of equipment condition at all times. Performed detailed electrical work without supervision.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubricating equipment in accordance with prescribed schedule or as instructed. Maintain proper pump oil levels and change oil in transmissions.
  • Supply equipment with required materials and supplies. Maintain proper supply levels in various devices.
  • Perform related duties such as maintain production, shrinkage, S.P.C., other required records relative to equipment performance and maintenance, enter and retrieve information to and data terminals, mix parts cleaning solutions, neutralize solutions, drain tanks after authorization, clean reflectors and lenses, clean tanks, move materials and supplies in assigned areas, assist trades people as required or assigned, etc. May be required to become licensed to operate power mobile equipment at walk speed or less to facilitate movement, placement, and/or repair of equipment.
  • Instruct, train, and/or direct less experienced associates as assigned.
  • Work directly with MSE and/or Process Engineers to improve reliability and performance of equipment.
  • Supervision of production lines as required/directed.
  • Ensure adequate supply of replacement parts in stock and document.
  • Maintain communications log daily.
  • Calibration of process gages with documentation of calibrations.
  • Machinery/Equipment:

    Aluminizers, robots, sonic/vibration welders, automated fastening systems, leak detection systems, automated equipment cells, data entry, photometric test equipment, , and other test equipment, epoxy dispensing equipment, crusher, dumpster, conveyor, pallets, mechanics hand tools, lubricating equipment, power mobile equipment, cleaning equipment, containers, data terminal, clerical supplies, safety equipment as required, etc.

This position may require hot work, standing up to 100%, lifting up to 75 lbs, overhead work, kneeling, bending, crawling, pushing, pulling, climbing, and working at heights.
