SCOPE OF ROLE:

Would you enjoy helping in maintaining our beautiful town, Port Gamble, WA? You would assistance in day-to-day upkeep, light carpentry and plumbing to town clean up to keep our town clean and presentable not only for our local community but for our many visitors as well.

You will have access to the tools, support and development you desire to continue to build upon your knowledge and expertise and advance your career, including mentoring, training opportunities, development exposures and more.

HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED:

  • Maintaining the Town site by some or all of these tasks: pressure washing fences, sidewalks, signs, buildings, changing all lights in church, museums, exterior lights, pavilion, post office, maintenance in public bathroom repairs (light plumbing); painting fence, porches, street lights, signs, touch up repairs (light carpentry), all garbage pick-up and town clean up, clean-up worksites, maintain janitorial supplies, stock and clean, placing of rental signage; & other responsibilities as assigned
  • Providing Wedding & Event support - at events season peak: pressure wash church terrace and tent pavilion pads, help with tent setup, lights, liners and sidewalls, move and/or add space heaters, fill propane bottles, add additional garbage cans and power, clean up after wedding reception, assist in moving & setting up tables/chairs, assist in parking control and signage, insure bathrooms are maintained, assist in special needs/moving equipment & other responsibilities as assigned
  • Lawn care as needed and may include mowing, weed eating, hedge trimming, planter bed maintenance and other responsibilities as needed.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

  • HS or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Some basic carpentry and plumbing skills. Use of hand and power tools, safety rules and regulations; with a strong customer service approach.
  • Ability to assess job site conditions and act upon them as needed.
  • Provide consistently professional and positive customer service with visitors, tenants, and employees.
  • Requires good communication both verbally and written.
  • Must have the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Be creative in problem solving.
  • Must be able to prioritize according to time allowances and deadlines.

PAY & BENEFITS:

Our starting pay range for this position is $35,000 to $44,600 based on experience. This position is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan.

Our 401(k) retirement savings plan includes up to 3.6% in company matching contributions (60% match on the first 6% of base and bonus deferrals) as well as a 3% enhanced retirement contribution that does not require an employee contribution.
