SCOPE OF ROLE:

Are you passionate about creating extraordinary real estate development projects and communities with purpose? We are actively searching for someone with a strong working knowledge of all facets of real estate development including commercial, residential, infrastructure and amenities. You will be responsible for planning, design, entitlement support, engineering, budgeting, cash flow management, contracting, negotiations, project management, and coordination with development partners.

Through this experience you will gain exposure to many different aspects of real estate development and the communities in which we operate. You will also gain exposure to our projects throughout the U.S., as well as learn about forestry land management. HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED:

  • Create and manage real estate development project scope, budgets, and schedules, and deliver quality projects on time and on budget
  • Comprehensively review and manage design processes including project master planning, civil engineering, architecture, traffic engineering, geotechnical, environmental, lighting, and landscaping
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with design and construction professionals, public agencies and our communities
  • Oversee the project team and outside professionals in creating and implementing effective strategies for managing the financial success of the project
  • Negotiate and manage all major development, design and architecture and purchasing contracts for new and existing projects
  • Continuously strive to improve internal financial reporting and provide project and financial updates to internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Coordinate with and support project team members including commercial and residential sales and marketing, project operations, financial reporting, forestry operations and legal
  • Participate in the identification of value-add and HBU opportunities within our real estate portfolio

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in design/construction of land development related projects including securing entitlements and permits; leading the development of site plans, budgets and construction drawings; and, leading the design and construction of storm water management, grading and earthwork, utilities and horizontal infrastructure, common areas, wayfinding and vertical projects
  • Undergraduate or graduate level degree program in Civil Engineering, Business, Finance, Construction Management or equivalent business experience is preferred
  • A financially driven, collaborative, detail oriented, project management and execution leader
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously include scoping, cost-estimating, budgeting, scheduling and organizing large multi-functional internal and external teams
  • Must have strategic business sense and demonstrate the ability to analyze and reorganize business processes, timeline and cost schedules, and contractor relationships in order to achieve project objectives
