Management Trainee Program

Does the idea of running your own business excite you? If you are an energetic self-starter and love the idea of a robust, structured development course designed to prepare you to manage a business; the CED Management Training Program is for you.

The purpose of the Training Program is to develop managers for our businesses; we call them profit centers. During the training program you experience all aspects of the electrical distribution field. This program is challenging, rewarding, and requires a strong commitment from trainees as you work your way through a fast-paced rotation of duties. Phases you will experience are:

Phase 1: Warehouse & Counter Training

Phase 2: Operations Training

Phase 3: Customer Service Training

Phase 4: Outside Sales Training

By taking time with the training program (2-2.5 years) and putting candidates through all positions within a profit center, they are well prepared to take over management of a profit center at the end of their training.

Trainees will also travel to various vendor training across the US as well as attend classroom sessions at our Service Center in TX. (4-5 trips per year, approximately)

Each trainee’s development is a combination of mentoring on-the-job with by experienced manager, classroom training, and home-study. Individuals should be self-motivated, sales oriented, geographically flexible, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit.

Candidates should be driven, sales-oriented, and possess the ability to work on their own and with a team. Great for recent college graduates as well as someone looking to start out in a new industry.

Experience in the industry is not necessary. Bachelor’s degree required.
