Job Summary
Reporting to the Global Senior IT Operations Manager (under Infrastructure and Operations), the position serves as the enterprise Subject matter expert to provide engineering (plan/build) and support (run) for a cost-effective, reliable, secure and scalable global infrastructure. You will also provide leadership in the design and strategy of the Network environment to meet current and future business requirements. You will collaborate with other architects (Enterprise, Network, Application, Digital workplace, Security, and Information) and align the Network architecture to the Enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the company’s network vision, architecture, design, and Operational Excellence.
- Translate the business requirements for connectivity into a clear Network Architecture and Solution roadmap.
- Envisions the future network architecture and solution for Wide and Local Area networking, including wireless.
- Define requirements to funnel into architectural input on improvement needs of the network design. Maintain close collaboration in deriving the roadmap to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
- Leads the Operational Excellence for a day-to-day run of the network, based on pro-active monitoring, pro-active and adaptive maintenance and where required corrective actions.
- Coordinates and manages the company’s engineering team and provides technical leadership to train and manage network engineering resources and another third-party service provider.
- Primary interface responsible for network-related services carried out by the company’s service providers.
- Guides and monitors the outsourcing partner on compliance with SLAs and other commitments and provides management reports and other qualitative data to measure the effectiveness of the service provided.
- Understands the company’s networking design and implementation standards to assure accurate service delivery by our current outsourcing partner.
- Is an active member of the Change Advisory Board for changes in the IT Landscape.
- Leads incident management as well as proactive and reactive problem management in the Network domain.
- Develops in cooperation with the manager the target Operating Model. The organizational structure and ongoing workflows to deliver/maintain rigorous networking standards and practices across the engineering staff and the company.
- Work closely with the assigned Network team members to develop each team member in their assigned role.
- Coordinate solutions and necessary escalations with vendors and network engineers for service delivery issues.
- Actively contribute to improving and mapping LAN/WAN/Wireless/VoIP processes within the ITIL framework.
- Understand complex LAN/WAN/Wireless/VoIP integration with WAN, LAN, Wireless, and VoIP networks.
- Work with Business Units, Development team, and IT Infrastructure team members to ensure overall performance meets/exceeds service level objectives
- Perform Service Manager role for Global Network
Job Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in information technology, with a focus on infrastructure.
- At least 12-15 years of experience in a network solutions role in a globally distributed organization.
- The candidate has experience in a wider regional organization and understands a matrix work culture. Experience in a global role is a strong plus
- Experience in network architecture and a clear vision of future networking in global organizations.
- Has experience in guiding applications teams on application behaviour on Wide Area Networks.
- Excellent communication skills to guide IT managers and stakeholders on the Network Transformation journey.
- Understand and has experience with the translation of Business requirements to technical architecture and solutions.
- Industry Technical Certifications are required: CCNP, CCDP or CCIE and CCVP and CCNA Wireless, CWNA or CWNP, experience with Microsoft, Linux, and Networking an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN/Wireless/VoIP technology, (Cisco Router, Cisco Switch, Cisco Wireless, , Cisco ISE, , Checkpoint Firewall, , Fortinet FortiGate and FortiVPN, Riverbed /Steelhead, F5 Load Balancer etc.).
- Can think out of the box and has a can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication skills
- Some travel might be required (5-10%)
