The Opportunity
Density is looking for a talented and highly qualified Manager, Logistics & Operations to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for all logistics management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods, assessing budgets, dealing with customs clearance, rethinking our fulfillment methods, and warehouse organization.
We count over 1 million humans per day. Over the next 18 months, we plan to count 100 million every 24 hours.

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Logistics & Operations with a firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, customs clearance, fulfillment, as well as domestic and international distribution. We need someone who has experienced scale and can bring best-in-class shipping and logistics practices to our organization.

Responsible for the qualification, selection and contracting of Third Party Logistics (3PL) partners, which support our global operations

Development of strategies to ensure domestic/international freight availability and service quality is aligned with Density’s projected growth at the lowest possible cost

Responsible for negotiating carrier contracts and the financial analysis associated with driving an agreement that supports Density’s objectives.

Responsible for review of all business documents being released to the vendors: RFPs, RFIs, Statement of Work (SOW), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and formal communications.

Conduct benchmarking exercises to assess competitiveness of Density’s rates and identify any potential future partners

Coordinate and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries

Supervise logistics, warehouse, and transportation activities

Responsible for inventory cycle counts, inventory accuracy, inventory transfers and maintaining a clean and organized inventory

Lead on-site Shipping & Receiving coordinator(s) including very accurate BOH (Beginning On Hand) reports for all components and materials

Creating, forecasting, and tracking expenditures to create more accurate budgets for Shipping & Logistics activities

Providing Import / Export and trade compliance support to the team

Reporting Shipping and Logistics expenditures quarterly to executive management

Continually optimizing and building upon existing processes by identifying areas of improvement, designing solutions with measurable impacts in mind, and executing such fixes in Density’s warehouse and inventory management

Bachelor's Degree preferably with a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering or Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience

5-7 years’ experience in Logistics, Distribution, and Warehousing

Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities with regard to inventory maintenance

Solid understanding of Oracle NetSuite logistics and inventory management software including ERP and MRP functions

Obsession with quality and have outstanding attention to detail in everything you do and be known for this!

A highly organized and logical approach to problem solving; when given a large and complex set of variables, you innately know how to prioritize and formulate a strategy to structure and design a clear plan.

An ability to execute like nobody else; be a pro at follow up and follow through and operate at a high tempo and pace to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness

Demonstrable skill at leveraging Excel/Google Sheets to track, manage, and communicate the work that you and your team does

Examples of your top-notch verbal and written communications abilities and be able to present data and information clearly and concisely
