Major Position Responsibilities
- Leads team to administer employee insurance programs, including health and welfare programs, COBRA,
disability and life insurance plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Administers employee savings plans, including the company’s 401(k).
- Collaborates with communications team to advise and inform employees of changes and developments
related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and plan provisions.
- Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to
carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
- Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state and provider
rules, regulations, and policies.
- Reports data to benefits broker to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers.
- Collaborates with leadership to identify and select carriers and plans based on quotes,
available benefits, and prior experience.
- Monitors administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance
with plan requirements.
- Ensures compliance with the applicable provisions of FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and
ACA.
- Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring
the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in benefits
administration.
- Leverages technology to ensure that Benefits Team operates effectively and efficiently.
- Ensures Benefits Team provides excellent customer service and timely responses to internal and
external customers.
- Manages the administration of leave of absence programs, including state sick leaves and FMLA
administration
- Manages relationships with brokers, third party vendors, and carriers.
- Resolves escalated benefits questions.

Thorough knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related
to employee benefits, including FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA and ACA guidelines
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
Experience with HRIS systems is required; UKG Pro/ Benefits Prime /Benefits Administration
experience is a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field is strongly preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold HR Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM – CP, SHRM SCP, CBP, CCP+ years of experience administering benefits programs required
- Must have experience administering benefits for a large, multi-state employer 3+ years of management experience required
- Must have experience leading Open Enrollment and other large-scale projects or change initiatives
Work Location and Schedule
- The primary work location will be Triage’s new HQ at 13609 California Street in Omaha, Nebraska.
This role is expected to work in the office, with the flexibility for occasional work from home.
- The ideal work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, but there is flexibility to
alter that schedule within the timeframe of 7:00am – 6:00pm.
