As the Manager of Pricing and Commercialization, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pricing strategy, management, and governance. Your expertise and leadership will be critical in ensuring that our products/services are priced competitively, align with our overall business objectives, and maximize revenue potential. You will also play a key role in analyzing market trends and customer insights to provide strategic pricing recommendations, enabling data-driven decision-making. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement pricing changes and drive successful new pricing initiatives.
Role Overview
Pricing Strategy and Optimization:
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with business objectives, market dynamics, and customer needs.
- Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer feedback to identify pricing opportunities and potential threats.
- Conduct pricing sensitivity analysis and A/B testing to optimize pricing models and increase conversion rates.
- Continuously monitor and adjust pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
Pricing Analysis and Insights:
- Utilize data analytics and market research to provide data-driven insights into pricing decisions.
- Conduct pricing analytics to assess the effectiveness of existing pricing models and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with the finance and business intelligence teams to evaluate the financial impact of pricing strategies and changes.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with product management, marketing, and sales teams to understand customer preferences and market trends, informing pricing decisions.
- Work closely with sales enablement to develop pricing training and ensure alignment with pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with customer success teams to understand customer value and incorporate feedback into pricing considerations.
Pricing Governance and Policy:
- Establish and maintain pricing governance guidelines, ensuring consistency and compliance across all software products.
- Develop pricing policies and procedures to support a structured and standardized pricing approach.
- Monitor pricing compliance and address any deviations through corrective actions.
Pricing Packaging and Offerings:
- Collaborate with product management and sales to design effective pricing packages and offerings.
- Analyze customer segmentation and usage patterns to tailor pricing models for different customer segments.
- Support the introduction of new products and features, determining their pricing implications.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience with a minimum of 7-10 years experience in pricing strategy, management, and analysis, preferably in a [similar industry/niche].
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful pricing strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement pricing changes and new initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex pricing concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in pricing software/tools and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Adept at staying up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices in pricing.
