Manager, Software Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Manager of Internal Applications. This person will be responsible for overseeing a team of hybrid data engineers/application developers in the creation of internally facing applications. The ideal candidate will have experience leading software engineering or data engineering teams in the successful creation of software solutions driving internal excellence and improved customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a diverse team of developers to create internal applications driving operational excellence
• Work with internal stakeholders to define application requirements
• Assist directly in development efforts as needed to successfully deliver high-quality, on-time project work
• Manage prioritization between various departments in alignment with corporate objectives
• Act as a SME for our internal Superblocks application platform
• Provide technical training and support for developers within the Technology organization and the business
• Management of an analytics microservice surfacing reporting and ML data for our client facing platform
• Work within a bi-weekly scrum process to refine, prioritize, and work tickets within Jira

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of experience working with application development/software engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience managing an application development/software engineering team is required.
• Expert-level Python and SQL development skills required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Agile development experience required
• Strong experience with Javascript preferred
• Experience managing an internal productivity platform such as Superblocks or Retool is preferred
• Experience working with Product teams to scope and refine application specs preferred
