Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Buyer to join their team. As a Buyer, you will be part of the Purchasing Department supporting the production team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: Part Time Buyer (20 hours a week - 8am start)Location: Chatsworth, CAPay Range: $20-25/hr.What's the Job?• Coordinate all activities related to procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.• Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and date commodity is needed.• Assure that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price and meets the quality standards of the company.• Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.• Investigate and/or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.What's Needed?• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing setting.• Experience reading engineering documents, drawings, and technical specifications.• APICS certification a plus.• Knowledge of QAD ERP system.• Experience purchasing PCBs, Sheet Metal, and electronic components.• 4 yr degree a plus or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.• ERP/MRP experience.• Must be advanced user with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word).• Excellent organizational, teamwork and negotiating skills.What's in it for me?• Opportunity to work with a leading manufacturing company.• Competitive salary and benefits package.• Opportunity for growth and advancement within the company.• Collaborative and supportive work environment.• Chance to work with a talented and dedicated team.If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
