About the Role – You Will:
- Assemble or produce parts into completed units within blueprint specification and/or design tolerances; performs minor adjustments, repairs, or setups to equipment or machines.
- Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping (5S requirements) including proper daily storage of hand tools.
- Follow all quality and process standards and guidelines; Inspect work to ensure compliance.
- Inspect parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
- Assemble, align, test, and inspect parts to form complete units or subassemblies of a variety of standard products where procedures and methods are prescribed. This may involve many parts, close tolerances, and interrelated factors.
- Maintain tooling and material accountability; Identify part discrepancies and out-the-ordinary changes to product or process.
- Coordinate with other setup or leader personnel for associate job assignments, or set up personnel for movement of materials or coordination of duties.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- This position will be part of the Greenville-based Production team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greenville, SC.
- You will report to the Site Production Supervisor and collaborate with other Production members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA, and other manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA.

Your Experience Includes:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 – 3 years experience in electro-mechanical assembly, installing/assembling components (i.e., bus seats, windows, doors, interior lights, grab bar, and other interior bus fixtures), and mounting front and rear suspension assemblies. Experience in cutting, fitting, and measuring as well.
- 1 – 3 years experience in assembling the following: running brake and air lines, mounting HVAC units and radiators to exterior bus roof, mounting energy storage systems, assembling roof farings, and other exterior bus assembly tasks.
- 1-year experience or knowledge in assembly processes, lean manufacturing concepts, blueprint reading skills, and basic computer skills.
- Physical Demands:
- May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
- Lifting to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
- Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry, and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
- Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions, and close or distant visual items.
- Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
- Environmental Demands:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
- Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
- Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
