We are seeking an experienced Marketing & Business Development professional to support the global MOVE sectors team, which includes the Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, and Transport & Logistics sectors.
As part of the role you will be the lead M&BD for the Aerospace & Defense sector and support the Automotive sector M&BD team. You will work closely with colleagues across the U.S., Europe and Asia, supporting stakeholders who sit primarily in Washington D.C. and Munich.
Flexibility is key in managing the competing demands from the various stakeholders, but in return you will get to demonstrate your skills across the full marketing and business development mix - from pitching and client account management, to external profile raising and internal engagement activities.
Planning and Budgeting

Leading and supporting the development and implementation of business plans
-
Delivering market research, client analysis and internal intelligence to support the business planning process

Ensuring the sector leadership teams and any sub-groups are meeting regularly to deliver on the plans
Marketing Campaigns, Thought Leadership and Profile Raising

Growing the sectors in the market and with key clients
-
Planning, creating and managing the implementation of marketing communications, including seminars and client events, CLE trainings, client facing materials, external conference attendance and web and social media content

Leading on directory and award submissions in the US and support for global submissions

Supporting on input coordination for M&T thought leadership publications
Events and Sponsorships

Evaluating, coordinating and executing sponsorships as well as negotiating agreements and managing participation in sponsorships in order to ensure that the firm maximizes return on its investment

Produce, manage and support seminars, receptions, and other marketing-oriented events and activities, including but not limited to event promotion, development of invitations and other client communications, concept development, and vendor selection

Working with the sector head(s), and leadership teams to plan internal meetings and retreats
Client Development

Supporting the team on the portfolio of clients within the sector group including, monitoring and analyzing client financial performance and internal review meetings

Acting as a client account manager for some of the firm’s key clients in the sector

Conducting client feedback (post matter reviews, client service reviews and post pitch debriefs) for key clients
Pitching, targeting and new business generation

Supporting on industry sector led pitch opportunities

Liaising with Global Pitch team and other M&BD team members; to provide input to other industry sector, practice or firmwide pitches

Creating and maintaining a suite of standard targeting materials, including credentials documents
Internal communication and knowledge sharing

Supporting sector Working Groups efforts as M&BD Lead

Maintaining key M&BD resources including on the global intranet and hoganlovells.com, team lists, and master credentials documents

Supporting M&BD Leadership to promote our capabilities across the firm, including through global retreats, internal newsletters, conference calls, meetings and the intranet
Wider M&BD projects

Managing and contributing to wider M&BD projects as required, including the development of the firm wide industry program

Deal with ad hoc enquiries about the sector and its clients from other parts of the firm or members of the M&BD team

Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location and services

Minimum four (4)+ years of marketing experience, preferably in a legal or professional / business services sector

Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge of the transportation and mobility industry is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.

Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

Strong project management skills.

Pragmatic, diplomatic, and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.

Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional and global teams in a collaborative, professional environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including lunch hour, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
