As the first marketing hire at Matic, you will define and execute the creative force behind our first consumer robot launch. Working closely with the founding team and cross-functional leadership, you will fully develop and own marketing efforts, with a keen focus on owned channels and earned media. You’ll single-handedly ensure that our product features are properly positioned, launch smoothly, and get adopted by our user community.
The ideal candidate will have a knack for both intuitive and data-driven customer insight and be eager to think outside of the box to position a highly technical product to a broad audience.
What you'll do
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and market share
Become a “market mover”, placing Matic as a trusted and respected brand in the consumer robotics market
Architect a comprehensive brand/content strategy, focused on owned channels and earned media
Develop a content engine to educate consumers as to why Matic is a far superior product than others in the space, helping justify the price point
Build the foundation of our Product Marketing team, to ensure that our product features are properly positioned, launch smoothly, and get adopted by our user community
Work closely with the co-founders as the team ships new products and features while being at the forefront of industry and consumer trends
Distill complex concepts and information into simple and digestible formats used to garner brand recognition and drive customer conversion
Help rebuild consumer trust in an industry that has traditionally over-promised and under-delivered
Establish and measure KPIs for brand awareness, revenue, CAC, LTV, and other key metrics
Ensure the brand is clearly articulated and communicated through all channels
Understand and drive marketing strategy across the most effective channels to reach the target audience
What we look for
Experience building a fast-growing, upstart brand that people love. Ideally, with market-creating consumer electronics or affordable luxury DTC brands
Deep experience with Brand Creation and Product Marketing
An iterative approach to test, measure, & optimize
An innate sense of curiosity to understand our products at a deeper level
High EQ and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with our strong team
A scrappy and roll-up-the-sleeves mentality aligned with a fast-paced early-stage growth business is a must
Reputation as a talented storyteller, not merely as an executor but as a creator crafting compelling and out-of-the-box narratives to drive interest and engagement
Ability to distill complexity into simple messaging which resonates with customers
A strong analytical problem solver with deep experience using data to inform decision-making
Place a high value on social and human relationships, including the desire to work in person from our Mountain View headquarters
