We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to grow our Luxury Packaging and Premium Label business and drive commercial success for our company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating demand at the brand/end user level, exceeding sales targets, and fostering strong relationships with clients. The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the overall growth and profitability of the Paper and Packaging business within MATIV’s Sustainable and Adhesive Solutions segment.
Position is remote, but within proximity to large cities with packaging customers; NYC, LA, etc.
responsibilities:
- Identify and qualify brand owner/end user targets for our Luxury Packaging and Premium label business.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company's customer base in Packaging and Label.
- Identify, qualify, and sell Neenah Folding Board and other related products to the converter channel.
- Develop and leverage effective working relationships with other players in the value chain, (merchants, brokers etc.) to drive demand through the channel.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and requirements to effectively position our products and services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and lead generation activities.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other cross-functional teams to develop compelling sales collateral, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Monitor competitor activity and market conditions to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge.
- Utilize SalesForce.com as our CRM. Build and maintain active sales pipeline, input new opportunities, and drive them through sales stages to close.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline activity for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or 5+ years of related job experience
- Proven track record of success in paper or packaging sales.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven approach to sales.
- Solid understanding of sales techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel.
