Each team member makes a unique contribution to our collective mission, and we recognize that with best-in-class offerings like:· Work-life balance to include flexible working opportunities and generous time off.· Family-first benefits like adoption reimbursement, pet insurance and mental health resources.· Educational perks such as student loan repayment, paid certifications and tuition reimbursement.· Career growth opportunities including an internal mobility program and leadership training and development.· Diversified healthcare and investment options including multiple medical plans, a stock purchase program and 401(k).Managerial Responsibilities and DutiesWe are looking for a Finance Business Partner based in Herndon, VA to provide business analyst support to a variety of exciting programs and analysts.• Understanding all aspects of the line of business, including, but not limited to, the business unit's strategic goals, use and deployment of direct and indirect resources, sources of revenue, budget constraints, data and information requirements, and dynamics of financial performance• Accountable for ensuring leadership is fully informed on all aspects of its business as reflected in the financial/business data• Reviewing and monitoring actual financial and delivery performance metrics to ensure execution of budget/forecast• Managing the preparation and distribution of financial and operational reports for internal users.• Identifying relevant and critical information which will enable management to focus on key drivers across the organization• Provide assistances to Program Control Analyst (PCA) team with respect to day to day questions and/or guidance required for them to perform their responsibilities• Providing forecast submissions on a monthly basis for assigned programs and portfolios and work with PCA’s to ensure timely and accurate forecast submissions for Business Units• Other duties as assignedProgram Financial Responsibilities and Duties• Proactively partner with program management team with analysis and recommendations within the scope of program control.• Support preparation of client status reports, program reviews, or program related financial requests for clients, internal management, and other stakeholders.• Build and maintain current, accurate, and timely bottom-up Estimates-at-Completion (EACs) for all project types and conduct monthly review meetings with Stakeholders.• Support the development and maintenance of portfolio forecasts during monthly updates.• Monitor and review project and program expenditures for accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with accounting department in resolving any discrepancies or mis-coding of expenditures.• Coordinate with project team to provide project setup, labor assignments, WBS structure to Project Accounting.• Perform bi-monthly timecard analysis to ensure timely and accurate charging; review invoices• Review and analyze contract awards and modifications to ensure program meets financial requirements and expectations.• Support the monthly business rhythms of both the program and finance organizations.• Work independently and as part of a team; coordinate with other office locations and teams such as Contracts and Human ResourcesMinimum Requirements:• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a secret level security clearance• Minimum of 10 years of experience performing a project control function. Must have knowledge of government contract types• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with equivalent experience. 6 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.• Flexibility in work schedule during month end close and tight deliverables deadline• Familiarity with Project Control Life Cycle (Planning, Tracking, Analysis, Review and Reporting)Preferred Requirements:• Experience in working on Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) contracts.• Experience in working intercompany transactions especially with commercial teams in a Govt contract environment.• Demonstrated Excel and report-writing skills; experience with Deltek Costpoint, COGNOS and Concur.• Knowledge of or experience with project controls practices and principles, including rules of engagements, status reporting, and what-if analysis.• Strong verbal and written skills.• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to a variety of challenges in a growth environment.• Strong data analytical skills to support the financial and analytical requirements of the position.• Team player with positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and operations support focus.Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:$119,000.00 - $197,000.00 annually.Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.Maxar employees must follow all applicable Maxar policies and COVID-19 requirements as well as those of Maxar customers and third parties.
