Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our team as the Global Franchising Strategy Lead. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing McDonald’s short-term and long-term franchising strategies, with a focus on the IDL Segment and our Developmental Licensees.   Markets and Conventional Franchises. The ideal candidate will possess deep Franchising knowledge, understand the financial and commercial aspects of how McDonald’s makes money, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple functions, markets, and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation and execution of McDonald’s short-term and long-term franchising strategy based on data, results, and franchising expertise, with a focus on the IDL segment, and also engagement and contribution to Owned Markets and Conventional Franchisees.
  • Establish and maintain proactive engagement with IDL Business Unit Leaders and their cross functional teams.  In various aspects of the DL relationship with McDonald’s, this  role will have direct engagement with Development Licensees.
  • Play an influential and consultative role in the development and execution of policies, procedures, and guidelines to implement a unified McDonald’s Way of Franchising as Development Licensees progress through the major life stages of their franchising relationship with McDonald’s.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to BU and Segment Leadership on global franchising matters, requiring deep knowledge of franchising at McDonald’s.
  • Play a key role in leading Projects on strategic and long term aspects of Global Franchising including the creation and scaling of management tools and frameworks.
  • Build trusted connections quickly and effectively across multiple functions, markets, and cultures from a position of influence and collaboration.
  • Coordinate information and events across multiple markets with multiple stakeholders, bringing supporting structure and clarity.

The expected salary range for this role is $222,650-$289,440 per year

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading or having direct face to face engagement with Conventional Franchisees or Development Licensees at McDonald’s.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, legal or a related field
  • Proven ability to think strategically and commercially to develop long-term, holistic approaches to complex challenges.
  • Success in leading teams and coaching talent to drive top performance. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to influence and engage senior leadership, presenting insights and recommendations with confidence and credibility.
