The Pricing, Affordability & Digital Strategy team within U.S. Finance serve as internal strategy consultants providing thought leadership and practical insights to support major strategic growth initiatives such as Strategic Pricing Opportunities, Value & Deal, Digital and Delivery strategies. We share industry trends and convey our performance within the industry, generate quantitative insights to define opportunities to create, optimize, or discontinue initiatives, and help bring to life strategies and tactics that lead to improved business performance and consumer brand perceptions across our network of over 14,000 U.S. restaurants.About the OpportunityBased out of our headquarters in Chicago, the Business Insights & Strategy Manager will be responsible for supporting the realization of the U.S. business’ goals for first and third-party Delivery. As a key strategic thought partner, the Business Insights & Strategy Manager will use insights and storytelling to produce optimal long-term financial results. The role will advise cross-functional partners on value driven opportunities outside of Finance, including Marketing, Operations, Technology, Menu Strategy, Global Teams and Franchisees. Externally, the role will interact with Delivery Service Partners – partnering on ways to improve the delivery experience.Projects include supporting our marketing initiatives through development of national and local promotional calendars, addressing in-store operational trends, and executing business cases for strategic growth initiatives. Other ad-hoc projects can include providing financial analyses in support of the U.S. strategic growth plan and looking at industry/competitive trends to find growth opportunities. Projects will require analyzing the viability of strategic initiatives, providing key insights into restaurant impacts resulting from these initiatives, and ultimately make recommendations based on the business screens established for the initiative. After an initiative has concluded, they will provide the financial results to key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities• Serve as an internal consultant to motivate change and growth• Provide thought partnership and initiative management within cross-functional teams• Frame and communicate results of analysis to various collaborators and stakeholders• Perform ad-hoc analysis to aid in strategic planning• Opportunity sizing and initiative forecasting• Evaluate initiatives, both in test markets and on a national scale• Conduct business performance analysis• Develop business cases, as neededRequired Competencies• Ability to influence others through storytelling and empathy• High level of intellectual curiosity• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills• Strong communication skills (both oral and written) to convey complex data into clear insights• Strong quantitative focus with experience in business trend analysis, product or promotion evaluation, customer analytics, market tests or general data analysisQualifications• 5+ years Consulting, Business Insights/Research, Strategy or analytical and data intensive environment required• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred• MBA preferred• Prior exposure or interest in basic programming and reporting software (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, R, SAS, Tableau) preferredAdditional InformationMcDonald’s is an equal opportunity employer committed to the diversity of our workforce.
