We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to join our team. The goal of an Mechanical Engineering intern at Wisk is to deliver hands-on technical job training to an individual pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. You will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team that support many different Integrated Product Teams.

Why we need you:

    • With that vision in mind, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to join our Mechanical Engineering team. The goal of the Mechanical Engineering intern at Wisk is to assist in building the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment.
    • The successful candidate is highly motivated, and results driven. Using strong understanding of first principles to mature designs. You will be working in a fast paced environment with the focus of developing the future of electric aviation.

What you will do:

    • Design and analyze mechanical structure
    • Create 3D CAD models using NX
    • Create and release 2D mechanical design drawings
    • Collaborate with senior mechanical design engineers

What you have done:

    • Juniors and Seniors pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
    • Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
    • Proficiency with CAD software, Siemens NX preferred)

Desired:

    • You are familiar with Energy Storage System (batteries) , electric motors, and actuation

    • You have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communications to suit the audience
    • You can adapt quickly or propose changes needed to achieve early results in a timely fashion
    • You embrace challenges and take commitments and deliver results within reasonable expectations
    • You are a positive team player

Eligibility Requirements:

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
    • Must be either a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate student in college
    • Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
    • Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
    • Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks (full-time 3 months)
    • Must be able to work pacific standard time (PST)
