We are looking for an exceptional Medical Director to help build out our medical practice in service of our customers and patients. Our ideal candidate will be CA or MA-licensed and board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. As a Medical Director, you will ensure care delivery in alignment with Color’s mission, values, and goals, and help develop the strategy for providing innovative, outcomes-driven care.
You will serve as a lead clinician and oversee clinical care delivered via video, phone, and sometimes in person to a diverse patient population in partnership with employers, governments, unions, and health systems. You will work closely with a team of Product, Operations, and Medical Affairs experts to design and implement novel care models, quality programs, and software tools.

This is a contract role with expected time commitment of 5-20 hours per week.

Establish a vision for patient (and provider) focused clinical programs in the areas of cardiometabolic disease, infectious disease, cancer screening, genomics and behavioral health

Supervise and provide direct patient care as needed over video, phone and messaging, and occasionally in person

Prescribe medications, immunizations, and order lab testing and imaging as appropriate

Oversee the quality and performance of medical staff, including patient evaluations and follow-up through preventative chronic care programs

In collaboration with the data team, design approaches to measure clinic performance and outcomes

Partner with the Medical Affairs to design and implement evidence-based clinical care protocols and guidelines for a variety of conditions and services delivered virtually

Participate in the recruitment, retention, and development of the medical staff

Follow best practices and company-specific guidelines for diagnosis and treatment, and identify opportunities for innovation to increase effectiveness and quality

A friendly, compassionate physician who is excited about helping patients

An MD or DO with a focus in primary care - Board certified in Family or Internal Medicine

5+ years clinical leadership experience in an outpatient primary care setting and 2+ years of telemedicine experience

CA or MA license in good standing - preference for multiple state licenses

Enrolled or willing to enroll in Medicare and Medi-Cal (must not have opted out from Medicare)

Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders

Familiarity with and experience in managing conditions that are common in primary care settings including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, STIs, behavioral health conditions, as well as acute care conditions like COVID-19
