Job Title:  Physical Therapist Assistant, Northwest/Fair Oaks, Boerne area

Location:  Fair Oaks - 7926 Calle Rialto, San Antonio, Texas 78257

The Role: 

Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy and rehabilitation services under the supervision of a physical therapist.  Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, assessing patient health, identifying patient care issues, and administering appropriate treatment programs.  Value-based care model typically seeing approximately 8-10 patients a day.  Well-supported position, partnering with the Physical Therapist, Primary Care physicians and other clinical staff in a collaborative care model.  

Immediate full-time opportunity - Will provide care to retired San Antonio Fire, Police, and other First Responders in our beautiful state-of-the-art health and wellness centers.  Monday - Friday, must be available to work 7:00am-4:00pm AND 8:00am - 5:00pm.  Currently this clinic is only open Monday - Friday, however we may expand services to include rotating Saturdays.  

  

What You’ll Do:

The Physical Therapist Assistant will primarily be responsible for direct patient care for patients referred to physical therapy.

Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.

Documents patient care services by charting patients and records.

Performs therapeutic procedures by administering exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.

Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.

Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens and promoting wellness and health maintenance.

Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Assists with review of referrals and scheduling of patients.
