Metaplane helps companies trust their data.

Our observability platform helps data teams (like those at Bose, GoFundMe, Ramp, La Colombe and many more) continuously monitor their data so they know when things break, what went wrong, and how to fix it — before executives message them.

We’re a fully remote company founded by MIT and HubSpot alums and backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, Felicis, and the founders of HubSpot, Okta, and Vercel.

The Role

We’re focused on building the best data observability platform on the market, but we recognize that bringing data quality to all companies requires more than just building a great product. We also need to educate data teams about how Metaplane can help them deliver data their colleagues can trust. 

As our Product Marketing Lead, you'll be responsible for refining and executing our product marketing strategy, helping us make a big splash through product launches, own sales enablement, and help us stand out in the market with differentiated product positioning and messaging. You'll report to our Head of Marketing, and work closely with the company's co-founders.

Your day-to-day at Metaplane

As part of our growing marketing team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:

  • Product Marketing Strategy: Gain a deep understanding of Metaplane’s audience, develop product positioning and messaging, and communicate about the product and its benefits to our data-obsessed audience.

  • Positioning: Develop unique, differentiated product positioning and messaging. You’ll also help us distribute these insights across the organization, and analyze effectiveness.

  • Messaging: Help us advance data observability and elevate data teams. You’ll craft compelling product messages across marketing channels like landing pages, email, YouTube, external presentations, webinars, and more.

  • Launches: Plan and execute product launches from strategy to messaging, channel strategy, and measurement; collaborating with Product, Sales, and CS.

  • Sales Enablement: Create sales enablement content that demonstrates Metaplane’s importance in today’s data tech stack, so prospects choose us every time. Create content that address questions concerns at various stages of the sales process.

  • Market Research: Own market and audience research that aims to help Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to understand customer needs, market trends, and insights about the competitive landscape.

  • Partner Marketing: As needed, work with our partners on co-marketing efforts. Metaplane works with some of the best data companies in the world, including Snowflake, Fivetran and dbt Labs.

Is this you?

  • You have at around 5-9 years of product marketing experience, ideally in SaaS. Bonus points if you've worked with a product-led growth business model or a product with a technical audience, including data teams.

  • You are strong at product storytelling, and understand how to bring this to life via positioning, messaging, and regular GTM launch moments. You'll ideally have a portfolio or examples to show you've done this before.

  • You're a self starter, and thrive in an environment with autonomy to own and grow your program. You can make decisions based on data presently available.

  • You're an experienced project and/or program manager, and can handle multiple projects at the same time.

  • You’re a strong collaborator, and work well with Product, Partnerships, Marketing, CS, and Sales teams, just to name a few.

  • You quickly master new technologies and find it easy to help others become power users

  • You have empathy for the customer and enjoy solving problems for them -- working with our internal teams to build, market, and launch products that data engineers will love.
