MFG SUPPLY CHAIN SUPERVISOR - job 2 of 2

General Purpose:
Manage and coordinates the efficient material flows internally within the manufacturing lines (White Finish, Surface Treatment, Polymers, and Maintenance) and with internal customers and internal suppliers (Exports, Warehouse, Assembly, Austria, etc.). Including the efficient execution of production plans as directed by the Glock’s Supply Chain Planning Department and Manufacturing management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recommendations of hiring and firing employees and planning, assigning and directing work, conducting employee performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
  • Is responsible for the scrap metal recycling efforts within Manufacturing and Maintenance including the return of used cutting and other specialty tools to Austria
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of the inventory levels of supplies and tools maintained in the Manufacturing area including Kardex.
  • Coordinates the safety stock efforts in the manufacturing and Machine Maintenance areas and collaborates with planners and purchasing to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Effectively communicates with other functional areas (e.g. purchasing, warehouse, etc.) and other sites worldwide to ensure tools and supplies are available and conform to quality specifications
  • Support ERP troubleshooting efforts in the different Manufacturing Lines to ensure the transactions are accurate and promptly recorded.
  • Is responsible for reviewing production requirements given by the Supply Chain Planning department and flowing down the requirements to the different manufacturing lines.
  • Supports all LEAN activities in the operations area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standards
  • Evaluates operational efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow and ensuring that the output of the manufacturing department is efficiently transferred to the internal customers (warehouse, Assembly, etc.) accordingly.
  • Supports manufacturing output goals are achieved in compliance with manufacturing deadlines and delivery schedules by personally supporting the troubleshooting efforts on demand, based on directions given by the Manufacturing Management
  • Develops cooperative relationships and ensures information flow with multiple management and associate levels, nationally and internationally
  • Ensures compliance with legal- and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility and contributes to the development of new concepts after consulting the Company Management.
  • Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her areas of responsibility
  • Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up-to-date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills by promoting team cohesion and motivating team members
  • Mentors other team members to achieve set goals

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent and/or practical experience of 5+ years in production related and supervisory roles.

Enhanced experience in supply chain topics including advanced use of ERP tools

Advanced communication skills, and leadership skills, problem solving skills

Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

Moderate knowledge of ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX a plus)

Quality control and assurance and ISO 9000

English, German or Spanish optionally

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to Indoor climate controlled and team environment with strong training and support structure. All machines have machine guarding as well as strict safety practices.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but may require some work outside of these hours.
