Cloud Analyst

As a Cloud Analyst, you will work with customers to provide infrastructure, security, and cost savings recommendations to help optimize their AWS environments. You will work with AWS and other Mission Cloud teams to help customers achieve maximum value from their AWS environments.This is a 100% remote position.Responsibilities• Create custom reports giving personalized recommendations to customers, including cost savings and workload performance improvements• Handle ServiceNow tickets including requests for help from other teams, customer questions, billing alerts, reservation expirations, new account notifications and billing inquiries, etc; escalate tickets as needed• Validate proper IAM hygiene in customer environments, including ensuring MFA and password policies• Review high-level backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity concepts with customers• Stay educated on cloud infrastructure and operations trends and best practices; including the AWS Well-Architected framework• Configure and manage customer-facing cloud optimization tools• Work with Senior Cloud Analysts to find savings for customers through private rate cards and Mission programs• Work with Senior Cloud Analysts to perform Reserved Instance (RI) analysis and assist with RI purchases• Provide support to Billing for customer questions; give insight into specific line items that appear on Mission invoicesRequirements• Ability to present technical recommendations to customers• Experience with cloud economics, AWS services, and AWS pricing models• Experience with cloud management platforms or cloud billing systems• Ability to use AWS Cost Explorer and other AWS Cost Management tools• Ability to understand complex situations and provide concise written or verbal summaries• Ability to work with business continuity planning, including backup strategies and disaster recovery requirements• Knowledge of alerts, monitoring, and backup policies for production AWS workloads• Knowledge of AWS best practices and the well-architected framework• Understanding of security best practices within AWS environments, specifically with regards to root accounts, MFA and password policies, and IAM policies• AWS Certification (required within first 90 days of employment with Mission Cloud) - Cloud Practitioner for P2 and Associate level for P3Benefits & Compensation• Access to health, vision and dental insurance with options 100% covered by Mission Cloud for employee and their dependents• Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare & Dependent Care)• Generous Paid Time Off (FlexPTO, parental leave, volunteering time off)• Reproductive health benefits• Pet insurance• 401k matching program• Life insurance paid by Mission Cloud• Monthly flex stipend• Monthly cell phone stipend• Home office expense benefit• Employee Resource GroupsPlacement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and ability as evaluated during the interview process.
