Job Description
The Sr. Materials Planner will be a working leader role, located in Brookings, SD. This role supports our manufacturing plants based in Brookings, South Dakota and Mocksville, NC. This individual will interface with suppliers to place orders and ensure the timely delivery of products to our Larson sites. The successful candidate will own product category throughout the network... and will work closely with demand planning, factory, warehouses, and transportation teams;
maintain relationships with key stakeholders and report metrics that drive continuous improvement, high fill rates, and a streamlined workflow in a dynamic fast-paced environment. The S. Materials Planner will develop long-range planning while considering inventory levels, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, and production capacity. Support master schedule execution.
Location: This is a full-time role requiring on-site presence at our Brookings, SD location, 5 days per week.
What You'll Be Doing:

• Manage and optimize inventory levels by product category through the review of forecasts, safety stocks, MOQ, etc.
• Lead Supplier Report Card monthly review and elevate concerns as appropriate.
• Prepare purchase orders based on the production schedule, safety stock requirements, and inventory goals while minimizing freight and material spend.
• Maintain system item purchasing attributes such as safety stocks and lead times.
• Plan and direct the flow of raw materials into manufacturing.
• Expedite delivery of goods to users, both internal and external.
• Execute non-conformance process to ensure appropriate disposition is approved and credit is received.
• Analyze data to determine component order quantity. Must be able to multitask and be detail-oriented.
• Support master schedule by planning production based on customer needs.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of relevant Materials, Scheduling, Supply Chain related experience.
• Strong customer service skills including oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite. Strong Excel required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two or four-year degree preferred
• 5-7 years previous relevant experience preferred (or combination of education and experience).
• MRP/ERP experience. Experience with Qlik View would be an added bonus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, to actively pursue and drive continuous improvement activities, and demonstrate strong leadership.
• Strong skills in analytics, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication.
