Associate Human Resources Specialist

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an Associate Human Resources Specialist who will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Human Resources processes and providing excellent customer service to internal customers as it relates to HR Operations. As part of our HR Service Center team, this person will act as the first line of contact for HR questions through various communication methods; phone calls, emails, faxes, mail and voice messages 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Conduct data entry and maintenance for personnel changes including employment status and benefit enrollment 
  • Consult with HR partners with request escalations to support a one-HR approach 
  • Manage drug and alcohol program requests from Mortenson teams
  • Initial contact for benefit support for Craft and Non-Craft team member leaves of absence 
  • Assist team members with relocations and assignment changes 
  • Provide support for team members and new hires regarding hiring and onboarding processes

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field required
  • Previous human resources internship experience preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered 
  • Values-centered, team player with strong communication, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Superior customer service skills, strong attention to detail and well organized
  • Desire to work with the sense of “ownership” and “urgency” to see all projects through to completion 
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Must work effectively and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

The base pay range for this role  is $55,100 - $74,400. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
