Everything we do is in the care and service of our teammates and our customers.Join us and make the dream of home ownership possible!KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe ideal candidate will have the background experience (or similar applicable experience) to carry out the following position responsibilities:• Prepare and maintain the tax inventory of fixed assets and intangible assets• Prepare tax adjustments and maintain the deferred tax proofs• Assist with the quarterly and annual income tax provisions for financial reporting purposes including control procedures/ documentation• Assist with federal and state estimates and extensions as well as the tax department’s due date calendar for all types of tax• Prepare and assist with all aspects of federal and state tax compliance• Assist with the preparation of and ensure accuracy and integrity of transactional records to support accurate tax filings• Aid with responses to various federal and state notices and audits• Assist with the maintenance and income tax reporting of the Company’s WOTC program• Maintain current knowledge of tax law changes, and assisting with developing the Consolidated group’s tax positions in relation to such laws, regulations and pronouncements• Work closely with other departments within the Company to ensure timely awareness of transactions and events that will affect filing obligations and tax positions• Participate in the implementation of departmental process improvements utilizing key technologies such as Excel, Alteryx, and Microsoft Power tools• Collaborate with special projects as needed in the Company’s tax accounting functionREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE• Proficiency in Accounting for Income Taxes• Experience with federal, multi-state and local tax accounting for corporations and partnerships• Detail-oriented with demonstrated project management skills• Strong organization and time management skills• Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills• Strong research and analytical skills• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting• Minimum of 3-4 years of proven and progressive tax experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE• Masters in Taxation• CPA Certification• OneSource Tax Provision experience• OneSource Tax Calendar experience• Financial services/mortgage banking experience• Hands on compliance experience in a big 4 accounting firm, corporate tax department or equivalentMr. Cooper Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
