National Account Executive Payer Field Team - Market Access

ABOUT THE FLOCK

As a member of the Market Access team (at bluebird, it's Access, Value, and Evidence Strategy, AVES), you will be working alongside some of the most committed, creative, and experienced individuals in the cell and gene therapy industry to break new ground so that patients can access our FDA-approved gene therapies—patients who often have no therapeutic alternatives to battle progressive, debilitating, and life-shortening diseases. We are passionate about the science behind our gene therapies and the tremendous value we believe these one-time administered, potentially curative therapies bring to patients, their families, the healthcare system, and society overall. HOW YOU'LL FLY

You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:

• Positively influencing decision makers, policies, guidelines and contracts to facilitate timely access to FDA-approved bluebird therapies.
• Maintaining, broadening, and deepening relationships on behalf of bluebird with target entities (e.g., payers, pharmacy and medical benefits managers) that affect coverage and reimbursement decisions.
• Identifying and reporting payer trends and competitive insights back to bbb Understanding of both National and Government payer landscapes.
• Working cross-functionally, both proactively and reactively when appropriate, to mitigate and/or remove barriers to care at the consult and treatment phases of the patient journey.
• Maintaining the utmost standards of professionalism and compliance in all internal and external engagements .

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You're the bird we're looking for if you have:

• 10 years of experience in the biotech/pharma field with a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Strong clinical aptitude / acumen comfort and demonstrated success facilitating timely access to FDA-approved therapies through the ability to drive productive contract negotiations with customers, including ability to spearhead technical contract refinement (working with bluebird's in-house and outside counsel, and the AVES contracting lead).
• Experience negotiating and implementing outcomes-based or other alternative payment models preferred.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. markets and understanding of Commercial PBMs / Payers and Government Payers.
• Experience specifically in the cell and gene therapy space and/or the rare disease space; experience with product launches preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise as an SME for assigned key payer accounts with experience in navigating complex vertically integrated orgs.
• History of securing favorable formulary access status for specialty or rare disease products.

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a total compensation and rewards package that ranks among the best in our industry. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $202,415 - $262,721. Your base pay will be determined based on several factors including market data, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and travel requirements. Our overall package also includes eligibility for stock, incentive bonuses, and benefit programs, a flexible time off program, as well as 28 paid holidays, including 2 company shutdowns.
