Instructional Designer I

Overview

​This role is responsible for assisting in the design and development of learning materials to support our business needs. The Instructional Designer I will work closely with the Director of Learning & Development (L&D) and other team members to create effective and engaging learning interventions. This position offers an opportunity to grow skills in instructional design and apply foundational knowledge of adult learning principles.

 

Responsibilities

  • ​​Design and develop instructional materials including: presentations, eLearning modules, job aids, and other learning resources. 
  • ​Collaborate with stakeholders and team members on learning initiatives to understand and respond to business needs.  
  • ​Apply basic adult learning theory and instructional design practices to create engaging learning experiences.  
  • ​Support Needs Assessment processes to identify gaps and recommend strategies for improvement, setting clear performance-based objectives and measures. 
  • ​Assist in creating, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions. 
  • ​Develop learning assets in a variety of formats, including but not limited to Instructor Led Training (ILT/vILT), eLearning, job aids, and video. 
  • ​Develop learning experiences using a systemic design process (ADDIE/SAM) that supports continued quality, speed of delivery, and learning reinforcement.​

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • ​1+ years’ experience in Learning & Development​

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • ​​​Basic understanding of instructional design for different modalities (e.g., ILT, vILT, eLearning, blended) 
  • ​Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and development. 
  • ​Familiarity with content authoring tools such as Storyline, Rise, and Camtasia 
  • ​Basic graphic design skills; familiarity with design tools like Adobe Illustrator is a plus 
  • ​Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills 
  • ​Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to fast-paced settings
  • ​Willingness to learn and grow in instructional design and development practices.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $68,500 to $83,000 annually.
