National Remediation Specialist

The National Remediation Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and training related to mitigation, growth and build back construction. Performs assessments to determine where we can cut costs and advise staff on maintenance and capital improvement decisions. Interacts with maintenance personnel and field vendors frequently.

Responsibilities:

Review estimates, products, pricing, and solutions associated with Loss & Mitigation related services.
Advise regional staff on maintenance and capital improvement decisions, including bid review and negotiation.
Responsible for developing and implementing company Remediation Construction policies and standards when applicable; works with Regional Maintenance, Property Management, New Construction departments and third-party vendors to implement and maintain standards.
Drives standardized Remediation Construction-Pricing initiatives; negotiates with vendors to achieve optimal price offerings; works to establish premier vendor partnerships; researches and recommends cost saving alternatives to regional teams.
Identifies gaps in vendor networks; Works with Vendor Management team to market and recruit new vendors to fill those gaps; provides feedback to AVP & Vendor Management team to drive third-party vendor accountability.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Residential Construction and Maintenance or a related industry to show demonstrated broad range of knowledge across many different disciplines pertaining to residential construction and maintenance:
Mold testing and remediation, carpentry, structural and foundation, flooring, drywall, and painting.
Experience negotiating to drive competitive pricing.
Project Management.
Vendor Management.
Valid Driver’s license required.
IICRC Certification a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, planning, organizing skills.
Strong negotiation, relationship management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to meet multiple deadlines.
Must be able to use discretion and independent judgement.
Must be able to implement process improvement changes.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to pay close attention to details.
Must be able to adapt and flex to a changing environment.
Must be able to lift/carry 20 pounds.
