Tri Pointe Homes is looking for a proven, strategic and collaborative leader to join our talented group as a National Vice President of Marketing at our Home Office.
Position Highlights: The National Vice President of Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing national marketing strategies to grow our premium lifestyle brand position, drive brand awareness, lead generation, conversion, customer engagement, and satisfaction aligned with our business objectives and growth targets. Overseeing the national marketing team, you will be responsible for all aspects of marketing including brand programs, digital and content marketing, advertising, earned media, and market research to inform and guide decision-making, as well as collaborating with other functional leaders.
Position Responsibilities:
- Recruits, hires, evaluates, trains, coaches, develops, and retains a highly engaged, high-performing national marketing team. Supports the evaluation, selection, onboarding, and development of all division marketing leaders.
- Develops positive teamwork and achievement-oriented work culture for staff. Drives adoption of best practices and improves bottom line/results through continuous improvement culture.
- Models and reinforces actions consistent with the Company’s values, vision, and culture in line with core leadership competencies.
- Collaborates with other functional leaders and the national marketing team to ensure achievement of established company orders and delivery plan goals, while providing a superior customer experience that is consistent with the Company’s mission, vision, values, and brand pillars.
- Monitors and analyzes marketing data to gain insights, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Develops marketing Key Performance Indicators which transparently reflect results and improvement progress to ensure the company’s high standards and objectives are ultimately achieved.
- Prepares regular reports for the executive team on marketing performance and return on investment.
- Selects, implements, enhances, and leverages company-wide marketing systems and technology applications to achieve marketing objectives and KPIs.
- Ensures understanding and compliance with marketing policies, internal control procedures, and practices.
- Periodically evaluates the marketing team’s execution in divisions and communities to ensure continuing improvement in consumer experience and results across the company.
- Collaborates with the executive team to establish marketing strategy, goals, and objectives aligned with the company’s overall business strategy, Develop comprehensive plans for band positioning, lead generation, digital marketing, advertising, and public relations.
- Evolves and manages the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints. Monitors market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to continuously enhance the brand’s value proposition.
- Works with the national marketing team and external partners to drive lead generation efforts through effective, omnichannel marketing including brand programs, campaigns, digital advertising, promotions, content marketing, and earned media. Optimizes lead nurturing strategies to convert prospects into customers and measure campaign effectiveness.
- Oversees the development and execution of digital marketing strategies, including websites and apps, digital advertising, social media marketing, email marketing, and marketing automation with the internal team and external partners. Leverages data analytics to monitor performance and identifies areas of improvement, making data-driven decisions collaboratively with the national marketing team.
- Oversees the development and sharing of retail marketing strategy and best practice templates for onsite storefronts executed by local division marketing teams. Collaborates with the VP of Architecture and Design to provide education to division teams on community visioning and placemaking. Works with the national marketing team and external partners to provide example design layouts, digital and physical displays, signage, and collateral templates.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive communications strategy to effectively reach and engage with our targeted, segmented external audiences and internal team members. Ensures consistent, premium lifestyle brand messaging across channels and materials.
- Cultivates strategic partnerships and alliances with influencers and relevant organizations to enhance brand reputation, develops joint marketing programs, and expands market reach.
- Fosters strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional experiences at every touchpoint, collaborating with sales, design studio, construction, and customer care. Works with the national and division marketing teams to develop customer engagement and referral programs driving customer satisfaction and advocacy.
- Develops and executes ongoing and ad hoc primary market research to identify trends and opportunities to accomplish business objectives. Utilizes primary and secondary research sources to gain and share insights on consumer demographics, lifestyle, and competitive market analysis. Provides market research tools, templates, and external partners for division to leverage for local market-specific research.
- Collaboratively develops and manages home office marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across channels, programs, and campaigns. Makes recommendations for division-paid digital media and local marketing spend allocation.
- Collaborates with other members of home office management team to accomplish company objectives, bringing an in-depth understanding of Tri Pointe’s customer segments, market positioning and markets, up-to-date consumer preferences, and competition to the discussion. Serves as the voice of the customer across functions.
- Provides marketing and communications support to other functional areas such as HR, customer care, design studio, and Tri Pointe Solutions in accordance with overall brand positioning and customer experience.
- Keeps executive leaders informed of opportunities, problems, progress, and support needed.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum 10 years experience in a senior national marketing leadership role in the homebuilding or related business-to-consumer industry.
- Strong strategic thinking, experienced in utilizing business analysis and planning, and demonstrated ability to successfully develop and execute innovative, comprehensive marketing strategies.
- Self-aware with high emotional intelligence. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, inspire and motivate a diverse team. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including change management and seeking and receiving feedback.
- Excellent knowledge of omni-channel marketing across physical retail storefronts and communities, websites and apps, marketing automation and personalization, social media, content marketing, influencer marketing, and partnerships, paid digital advertising as well as market research, data analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Experience in project planning, establishing workflow processes and best practices, collaborating effectively, and accomplishing initiatives with marketing and other functional leaders including Information Technology.
- Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines (set up by self, others, and leadership).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient and experienced in applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, digital marketing applications including marketing automation and personalization applications, content management systems, social media and reputation management systems, Customer Relationship Management systems, market research and analytics platforms, and project management applications to achieve marketing objectives.
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires sitting, walking, standing, and project onsite surveying (standing, climbing stairs, etc.)
- Frequent driving or flying between divisions and main office (approx. 30% of the time).
- Environmental conditions vary depending on weather, stage of production, and where work takes place. Some of the following conditions apply at various times: hot, cold, wet, dry, muddy, humid, windy, calm, bright, dark, noisy, dusty, poor lighting, poor ventilation, temperature variations, fog, and rain, Airborne particles such as wood dust, drywall dust, etc. are common in the field environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $205,000-284,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
- Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus. Bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable incentive plan document.
- Equity: This position may be eligible for an equity grant, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s equity incentive plan document.
