Job Description

The College is currently looking to appoint an Academic Coordinator Health Sciences.  This key role is responsible for the academic management, coordination and administration of the Diploma of Health Science, and working in conjunction with the Academic Director, is accountable for the provision of high-quality pathways programs by ensuring the course is coherent in design, planning, management, delivery and assessment.

The key responsibilities of this role incorporate, academic leadership and administration, provision of academic advice to students, professional development and mentoring of staff and teaching within the program. This is a pivotal academic leadership role, with a central focus on fostering a high-quality teaching and learning environment and climate of student success.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a Health Science related area
  • 5+ years’ experience teaching (lectures/tutorials) at a tertiary level in the relevant discipline.
  • Substantial capability in academic/course administration and management within tertiary education.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills resulting in the establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with a diverse range of service providers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise work tasks and projects independently according to priorities.
  • Substantial experience leading and supervising academic / teaching staff in order to gain support to achieve positive student experience and outcomes.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a multicultural education environment.
  • Experience in developing academic development/mentoring initiatives.
