Responsibilities:

Coordinate and assign news stories to reporters and producers, ensuring timely and effective coverage of daily events.

Monitor newswires, social media, and other sources to identify and assess emerging story opportunities.

Collaborate with reporters and producers to develop compelling story ideas and angles.

Ensure content is accurate, balanced, and adheres to editorial standards.
•
Organize and facilitate interviews for current and upcoming stories.

Stay informed on current events and react quickly to breaking news.

Exercise sound editorial judgment and ensure high-quality journalism.

Partner with newsroom and production teams for seamless operations.

Conduct in-depth research to support investigative and in-depth stories.

Leverage social media and digital platforms to identify trends and enhance story development.

Work closely with management to align coverage with the editorial vision and goals.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in a newsroom
Proficient in all social media platforms.
Experience creating digital video content in a newsroom is helpful.
Strong editorial knowledge
Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment.
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
Available for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
