POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Administrator works under the direction of the lead network administrator and network architect to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including active devices and the cable plant. The network’s security, availability, and reliability are essential to delivering the College’s mission. The network administrator shares their technical subject matter expertise for projects from inception through design and delivery; working together with IT leadership, technical staff, and customers to define requirements, evaluate options, and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tactical repair of network devices; perform troubleshooting in the field as appropriate
- Perform maintenance, patching, and upgrades
- Daily monitoring, verification of security, compliance, privacy, performance and availability of all network resources.
- Ensuring availability and suitability of systems and software
- Participate in incident response
- Lifecycle replacement upgrades and installation
