Title: New Business Quality & Resolution Specialist

Location: Des Moines, IA


Job Summary:

    Audit a portion of New Business newly issued and pending files within standard service level agreements. Communicate on all aspects of new and existing files as warranted by auditing. Complete complex change tasks on newly issued and in-force policies; communicate with internal and external partners regarding needed requirements and explain the process. Act as a resource for questions from internal and external customers on complex changes being processed.


Essential Functions:

  • Audit and examine imaged documents and policy pages comparing to data entered into system for accuracy and completeness while adhering to company standards and government regulations.
  • Provide feedback directly to processors on any errors found during the audit review, with the overall goal of increasing individual, team, and business unit accuracy.
  • Research and resolve complex inquiries. Process complex transactions including reissues, pre-issue withdraws, date of birth corrections, social security number corrections, allocation changes, and free look requests, in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Order, print, and receive checks; validate checks for accuracy. Create correspondence needed to accompany check and validate for accuracy and clarity. Collaborate with our Treasury Operations and/or Cash Control teams to ensure the transaction is balanced.
  • Apply knowledge of IRS and state regulations to research and resolve various tax reporting that may accompany certain processes.
  • Review and analyze audit and policy correction data trends to determine continuous process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide support to internal customers by answering questions and explaining processes, both verbally and written, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete set up of all Single Premium Immediate Annuities in the MainFrame system.
  • Provide complex change process refreshers and training for other teams within the department and company.
  • Analyze and review reports generated for certain product types and processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Serve as back-up for other tasks and assignments in the New Business division.
  • Remain flexible to change, including providing service to new partners and performing new tasks, as our company continues to grow and change.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience in the annuity industry preferred
  • Sammons Financial Group Member Companies experience preferred
  • Proficient use of PC and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to successfully process complicated tasks out of multiple systems
  • Strong attention to detail and understand the impacts that your work may have on another area of the company
  • Ability to build professional relationships within our department and company
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and to think with a future focus mindset
  • Ability to work periodic overtime, sometimes with relatively short notice
