A Senior Technical Consultant is responsible for generating client financial deliverables and supporting the technical team as needed. The role plays an integral part in assisting the technical team members to meet their client’s data needs as well as to handle direct client assignments.

A successful candidate will have strong underwriting skills and be able to partner with the industry’s leading Account Managers and service team. You must be technology driven and open to learning new systems. You will be working with various benefit service teams with clients who are seeking outside the box solutions.
This position is a salaried, exempt and full-time role and will be reporting to the Service Team Lead for Total Rewards. Requires seasonal or intermittent traveling to visit clients and prospects. This is a US Hybrid/Remote based role (Pacific Time Zone work hours required), with the option to work from any of Newfront's office locations. #LI-Remote
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Assess client experience and/or utilization report needs and work with Data Analytics team to build deliverables. Responsible for reviewing prior to release on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.
Assess annual utilization and identify trends or areas of concern for review with senior technical team.
Manage data collection necessary for all analyses from internal and external resources – carrier data sites, client team, technology team.
Collaborate with client team, primarily with senior technical consultant strategic direction and plan management of programs and cost.
Evaluate client risk and change tolerance for alternative funding, benefit options, and/or new benefit offerings.
Model cost alternatives to meet budgetary goals by analyzing combinations of contributions, plan designs and carriers.
Prepare preliminary analyses with regards to plan renewals, marketing, cost forecasting, contribution scenarios and demographic analyses. May include generating funding rates, COBRA rates, Domestic Partner imputed income, IBNRs, and plan option pricing.
Calculate reserve estimates for self-funded clients.
Negotiate with carriers and vendors for best fees, performance guarantees, rate guarantees, etc.
Utilize internal Newfront Actuarial Model and any other tools as needed.
Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
2 years of Underwriting, Data Analysis, Carrier or Employee Benefits experience required.
Health Care insurance industry background or knowledge of group products preferred.
CERTIFCATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
CA Department of Insurance Life License (preferred).
The pay range for this position in California, Washington, Colorado and New York at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $157,600 and $197,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an “at-will position,” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
