Job Description


Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Director of Programs to be the Support & Training (S&T) Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Lead in our SDS Division. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program. Learn more about the Sentinel program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What You Will Get To Do:

Lead (SEIT) efforts for Sentinel Support and Training (S&T) systems, reporting to the S&T Segment Lead. Responsibilities include leadership over the following areas for Support and Trainings systems:

  • Responsible for segment requirements decomposition and verification.
  • Responsible for integration within the support and training segments of the weapon system
  • Integration and Test– Responsible for the integrated testing of S&T equipment, this includes test planning, test execution, and requirements verification of Support Equipment and Major Maintenance Vehicles.
     
  • Initiate a collaborative environment with other systems engineering organizations both within S&T and across the Sentinel program to ensure successful development of CDRLs and overall systems engineering execution.
  • Participate in establishing and direct the implementation of model-based digital engineering processes used in the design and development of the Sentinel support and training systems, at all levels of decomposition.
  • Ensure SE Product quality and consistency and manage auditing and oversight functions, including metrics development and management.
  • Interface closely with the S&T Segment Lead and implement systems engineering priorities for the team
  • Measuring and reporting program performance through development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activities

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This position may offer a competitive relocation package.
 

You Will Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 10 years of progressive engineering experience, or Master’s and 8 years’ of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience formally leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, investigation must have been completed within last 5 years

These Qualifcations Are Nice To Have:

  • ICBM experience
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
  • Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner

Salary Range: $187,700.00 - $281,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
