At Nike, it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.What You Will Do• Lead the research and development of performance-based products from conception to retail, ensuring they meet the needs of both accounts and consumers.• Generate innovative ideas and new ways of thinking about product performance, driving growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace.• Collaborate with product creation teams across all Nike business units to develop concepts that align with the vision for new products.• Define testing protocols and establish the scope required to validate new product concepts, ensuring they meet advanced consumer, business, and performance requirements.• Engineer prototypes and identify key elements of product construction, materials, and processes to bring concepts to reality.• Manage innovation projects, transforming ideation into reality by leading or collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including product creation, manufacturing, and third-party vendors.• Communicate clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders, synthesizing reports and final documentation to inform and educate about new innovations.What You Will Work On• Ideation and visioning of performance-based products that push the boundaries of innovation.• Developing advanced product concepts using new technologies and construction processes.• Leading the engineering and prototyping process to turn new product visions into reality.• Managing cross-functional communication and collaboration with design leadership, external partners, and internal teams.• Utilizing digital design tools, including the Creative Suite and potentially sophisticated 3D tools, to support the design process.• Engaging significantly with external partners, such as athletes, leagues, and collaborators, to ensure product designs resonate with the target audience.What You Bring• A minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience, including comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert.• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.• Strong creative experience with a deep understanding of consumer, style, and culture.• Proven ability to build original product designs across a broad range of price points and model types.• Expertise in generating a wide range of concepts and solutions for each project, with experience supporting broader design initiatives, including multi-gender, multi-dimension, and multi-activity projects.• Proficiency in digital design tools, including the Creative Suite, with a preference for experience in sophisticated digital tools or 3D skills.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present new ideas or seasonal concepts to both small and large groups, including executive leaders and external customers.• Strong cobbling and prototyping skills, with the ability to turn concepts into tangible products.
