North America Business Development Manager

At this exciting time for the renewable sector in North America, leading SaaS sector vendor AutoGrid Systems, Inc. (AutoGrid) is hiring for one or more North America Business Development Managers (NABDM) to support our direct and channel sales activity, creating sales prospects by developing and following up marketing activity, researching and calling to senior managers in order to help AutoGrid create new strategic relationships with target prospects in North America. This is an inside sales role, typically paired with one or more field sales personnel. The NABDM will work with members of the core AutoGrid sales, strategy and solutions architecture teams to help prospects to maximize the value they receive from their investment in the AutoGrid solution portfolio..

The NABDM will own responsibility for achieving stated revenue goals together with explicit lead generation and other KPI’s.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a clear and comprehensive understanding of client challenges and corresponding AutoGrid solutions and use cases, and the benefits they deliver.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of industry practices, regulatory structures and the signals that indicate a potential opportunity for AutoGrid.
  • Source new sales prospects through inbound lead follow-up and outbound structured calling and emails in response to direct marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and execute (working with assigned field sales personnel) an overall territory strategy as well as account level strategies to achieve software revenue goals.
  • Develop and execute (working with marketing team and assigned field sales personnel) carefully targeted prospecting campaigns using direct mail and account-based marketing techniques.
  • Carry out rolling research to identify new sales opportunities, including regulatory filings and project or strategy announcements involving changes to generation mix, or adoption of renewable energy power sources.
  • Research accounts, identify key players and add them to campaign activities.
  • Operate the role in compliance with AutoGrid company sales and operational procedures, with impeccable adherence to the maintenance of CRM records.
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales personnel for further development and closure

Experience

  • 3+ years track record in enterprise software inside sales role(s), preferably in a SaaS based business.
  • 3+ years of exposure to and understanding of the changing electricity market landscape in North America gained in an organization working in the sector.
  • Demonstrable understanding of a recognized sales methodology applied in an enterprise sales environment.
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day.
  • Resilient and capable of handling rejection with a smile.
  • Deep experience working with Salesforce.com.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent

Reports to: Senior VP, Global Sales

Compensation:

Compensation will consist of the following elements:
